Without inspiration, life is dull and boring. The same applies to neighborhoods.
We fly to Europe, or old American places, and bring back photos of charming villages, clustered homes with character. We admire it. Yet we search in vain for it back home.
Why? Because the modern subdivision lacks the right approach. Mosaic is spearheading an attempt to bring back the time-proven principles of sound neighborhood development that have been successful throughout history.
At Mosaic we respect the past, and try to use the best of it, yet include the finest new ideas. We create warmer, more intimate neighborhoods, rich with color and detail. Streets that are a bit narrower, and homes that sit closer. Sidewalks with lamps. Small parks with architectural features. Wooded islands. Outdoor spaces that fit together with correct scale, and not just open fields that separate neighbors.
Mosaic designs neighborhoods that feel as if they've been rooted in place for many years, rich with memories. Like a new version of our beloved East Grand Rapids.
It takes extra work, money and "intellectual sweat" to accomplish it. But we believe the fine results are worth the effort. We hope you'll agree.
